WHO IS NIGHTLIGHT?

NIGHTLIGHT are a Melbourne-based trio with a simple goal - to make pop music for alternative people

As listeners turn to upbeat, playful music as an escape, the band lead the charge with their pop-metal party. Formed by vocalist Laura Lazzara and keytarist Hayley Austen, with drummer Jordan Higgins joining in 2024, nightlight merge their electronic trap-pop roots with metalcore intensity, delivering hypnotic live shows that blur pop idol spectacle with pit-level chaos. The trio constantly surprise listeners with their trailblazing take on the pop-metal genre, bringing a new intensity with every release.

Following their 2025 debut EP ‘how does it feel?’ and 2026's ‘PARALLEL//LINES VOL. 1’, nightlight have quickly established themselves as one of Australia's most exciting emerging alternative acts.

Continuing their rapid ascent, the trio have delivered sold-out headline shows, multiple interstate appearances and national tours, consistent Spotify Editorial support, regular triple j airplay, and write-ups from various media outlets.

RIP//IT: THE NEW SINGLE
Break it down, you know it’s what we do - tonight’s a party and it starts with you.

If nightlight had a theme song, it would be RIP//IT. Channeling the energy of their live shows, RIP//IT was made to make you move, no matter where you are. Vocalist Laura expresses that she “just wants people in the crowd to uncross their arms and let loose”, crafting RIP//IT to be the ultimate anthem to let go and have fun.

nightlight have always fearlessly blended genre, colliding pop and metal - RIP//IT takes it to both extremes. The track is a heavier serving than you might expect from the trio, but it’s also the most tasty.

Recorded and produced by Ionei Heckenberg (Ocean Sleeper, BMG, Rise Records), the release is accompanied by a music video directed by Colin Jeffs - Ten of Swords (Alpha Wolf, Northlane) and a visual campaign shot by Beth Morrison - Act Four Photography, bringing nightlight's pop-metal world to life.
